For David Aliagas · Growth Strategist application · October 2026

Goose Europe: not more matches, more regulars.

Prepared by Yuvraj AroraEdinburgh and LondonNine month launch plan, November 2026 to July 2027

A community app does not win a continent. It wins a neighbourhood, then a city, then the next city. Here is how I would turn the 30k pre-saves waiting in Europe into five cities where every Goose member already knows someone on Goose, arriving at Pride 2027 as the app everyone is already using.

Why now

People are tired of swiping and hungry for plans.

Six data points that shape every choice in this plan.

78%

of dating app users report burnout from the apps.

Forbes Health, US, 2024, n=1,0002
+59%

growth in running clubs on Strava in 2024. People were four times more likely to prefer making friends in fitness groups than in bars.

Strava Year in Sport 20243
79%

of 18 to 35 year olds in the US and UK plan to go to more events in 2026, and 69% find them through friends and word of mouth.

Eventbrite with dcdx, 2025, n=4,0514
18%

of Gen Z identify as LGBT+, across 30 countries. The audience is growing every year.

Ipsos LGBT+ Pride, 20235
3.4m

monthly active EU users on Grindr alone. A big category with one dominant app and no real alternative built around plans.

Grindr EU DSA filing, H1 20246
Lonelier

LGBTIA people in Germany reported higher social and emotional loneliness than cis-heterosexual peers, linked closely to having no partner.

Scientific Reports, 2025, n=6,7847

So the European launch should be built around real-life plans, spread by friends, not paid ads.

Where to launch

Five cities, chosen on evidence.

Pick a city to see the data behind it. Scores are my judgement from that data; your pre-save numbers make the final call in month one.

The nine months

Ground, expand, then own Pride.

Each month has one job. Plans follow the seasons: indoor through winter, outdoor in spring, Pride in summer.

The growth loop

Every plan pays for the next one.

Tap a step. The loop runs per city, every week.

Goose Founders

Real people, on the record.

Creator-led growth only works if people trust who is inviting them. So every European invite comes from a named member someone could meet at the next plan.

Everyone

Member

  • Joins through a friend's code or a plan
  • Gets 3 invite codes after their first plan
10 per city

Founder

  • Hand picked local voices: run club hosts, artists, DJs, creators
  • Personal invite codes, tracked
  • Early features and Founder merch
3 per city

City Host

  • Runs one plan a week
  • Small monthly fee or perks
  • Briefed every Monday
1 per city

City Lead

  • Part time, owns the city's numbers
  • Recruits the next Founders
  • Reports to the growth team weekly
Real faces onlyFounders post as themselves, with their own name and face. No anonymous promo accounts.
Always disclosed#goosefounder on every post, so trust grows with reach instead of being spent by it.
Safe by designPlans at partner venues, a named host who checks people in, and a clear way to report anything.
The content engine

One plan, five posts, a week of reach.

2 plans a week×5 clips each×10 Founders posting=100 posts a week, per city
Street

The one question

Goose's own street format, run city by city. Same corner, same question, every week, until locals start to recognise it.

Product

Plan with me

A Founder makes a plan in the app, then we see the plan itself. The product and the night out in one clip, with the wave in shot.

Proof

Same night recap

Ten seconds of faces and noise, posted that night, with a pinned comment pointing to next week's plan.

Culture

The anti-app POV

Funny, specific clips about what the old apps get wrong, ending on what a Goose plan looks like instead.

The model

Move the levers. Watch the cities fill.

An illustrative model to agree targets around, not a forecast. Every assumption is listed below the chart.

Share of each city's pre-saves who join in its launch month.
New members brought in each month by existing members' invite codes.
Each plan drives installs through Founder content.
0members in the five cities by July 2027
0in each wave 1 city, such as London
Assumptions: 3,000 pre-saves in each launch city (half of the 30k European total, split across five cities). London and Madrid open in November 2026; Barcelona, Amsterdam and Paris in February 2027. Each plan produces 5 clips and each clip brings 30 installs, about 4.3 weeks a month. Churn is not modelled.
North star

Weekly active members who joined or hosted a plan, per city.

It captures density and real-life use in one number, and it is the number that tells us when a city is ready to run without us.

Thank you for reading

I would love to discuss this with you further.

This plan is a starting point, built from public research and the numbers in your job post. Your own data will sharpen every part of it, and I would welcome the chance to talk it through, hear where you see it differently, and work out together what Goose's first year in Europe should look like.
